Christopher Gernon is a Master of Social Work student at the UNC–Chapel Hill School of Social Work. His research and clinical interests focus on geographic disparities in access to care as well as policy implementation gaps, including the disconnect between written policy and real-world practice in criminal legal and social welfare settings. Before beginning his MSW, Christopher worked as a data analyst with the Vera Institute of Justice’s New York team. As an MSW student, he interns at the Criminal Justice Resource Department in the Orange County Courthouse, where he serves as a case manager for individuals with a history of substance use and a history of criminal legal system involvement. Christopher received his bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College.
