Examining the Black Box: A Formative and Evaluability Assessment of Cross-Sectoral Approaches for Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence
Background:
Co-located centers—such as family justice centers (FJCs) and multi-agency model centers (MAMCs)—use cross-sectoral approaches (CSAs) to enhance coordination and collaboration across disciplines in providing services for survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and sexual violence (SV).
This study was conducted in two phases:
Phase 1: An evaluability assessment of co-located IPV/SV CSAs.
Phase 2: A formative evaluation of co-located IPV/SV CSAs.
The project took place in North Carolina, with eight co-located centers participating in the evaluability assessment and six in the formative evaluation.
Aims:
Phase One:
Identify core components of co-located service models
Identify adaptive components of co-located service models and how they vary
Determine methods for conducting rigorous evaluations of co-located service models
Phase Two:
Determine whether the practice and research materials feasible and meaningful
Identify how the research materials could be enhanced
